Imaging Orthopaedic Disease
About this course
The first part of this workshop will take a case-based approach for the practical film reading of challenging orthopaedic cases. There will be particular focus on the use of non-standard radiographic projections, stressed views and beneficial arthrographic techniques, with an interactive film reading session illustrating these.
The second part will focus on advanced imaging of orthopaedic disease, with an emphasis on when advanced imaging can benefit a case. Relevant case examples of CT and MRI will be discussed in an interactive session, with the demonstration of the basic principles of interpretation. The value of ultrasound in orthopaedic imaging will also be considered, representing an advanced technique that can be used by most in practice.
