From strangles to real exotic threats – What you should know about equine infectious diseases

This course will offer a practical approach to recognising and managing infectious diseases in horses.
Diseases currently encountered in the UK will be emphasised with some coverage of imminent exotic disease threats. Among the infectious agents and diseases covered will be colitis, influenza, herpes viruses, equine viral arteritis, strangles, piroplasmosis and West Nile fever.
We will also discuss the best use of laboratory bacteriology and rational antimicrobial selection.
Time will be allocated for discussion and clarification to cover any further specific concerns or questions you may have.
