Essentials of Surgical Nursing
Headland House, Chord Business Park, London Road
Are you a nurse with an interest in surgery? Chances are you’ve heard about “Schedule III” – but what exactly is it, and what does it let you do? What does this mean to you, the veterinary nurse?
Furthermore, this heavily practical course will cover a number of procedures that can be carried out by the registered veterinary nurse. This course is an excellent foundation for nurses who want to expand their surgical techniques, making them an invaluable part of any veterinary surgical team. You will also learn the legal aspects on who is permitted to perform minor surgeries and what those surgeries are.
Delegates will take part in a suturing workshop and will be allowed to perform a practical ‘operation’ under the course tutor’s supervision. (Note: live animals and cadavers are NOT used on this course.) Delegates are encouraged to take an active part in the day’s sessions.
