Equine Dentistry – Diagnosis & Treatment
This two-day workshop will consist of lectures and practical stations utilising clinical patients and cadaver material.
Day 1 will include lectures on detailed dental anatomy, abnormalities of the incisors and cheek teeth, instrumentation, routine floating and treatment of periodontal disease. Practical sessions will utilise cadaver material to demonstrate dental and sinus anatomy, safe use of power equipment and wiring of simple mandibular fractures. Delegates will also have “hands on” experience of using hand and motorised dental equipment on clinical patient.
Day 2 will include lectures on diagnostic imaging of the head, advanced imaging techniques along with oral extraction and surgical extraction techniques. Small group practical sessions will include ‘hands-on’ with clinical cases and sessions on acquiring and interpreting radiographs of the head. For this session delegates should feel free to bring their own imaging cases for discussion.
