eCPD Abdominal ultrasonography online
This course is available online. Please see below for more details on how to attend this course via the Internet.
This course is most suitable for veterinarians who wish to advance their knowledge and skills in abdominal ultrasonography but who may not be able to attend practical scanning days at the RVC.
The course will include web-based online recorded lectures, movies demonstrating ultrasound techniques, and access to the tutor and other participants via an asynchronous online discussion board. No special software is required. 26 hours of CPD can be earned during this course through online lectures, discussion forums and an online assessment. The course is followed by an optional practical session (six CPD hours) on Wednesday 6th April at the RVC (limited to 20 participants) to consolidate knowledge. The course is designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills required to perform a basic abdominal ultrasonographic examination, identify normal anatomy and changes seen with common diseases. It is a course for beginners therefore no previous knowledge of ultrasound or experience with ultrasonographic examinations is required or expected.
During the optional practical day participants will have the opportunity to practice examining the abdominal organs taught during the online component of the course. This takes place on Wednesday 6th April (course fee £279) and can be booked online: http://cpd.rvc.ac.uk/courses/practical-abdominal-ultrasound-scanning-day-for-ecpd-course or by calling the CPD Unit – 01707 666865,
