Dr Sarah Caney MRCVS presents a day on chronic feline diseases!

Nurses play a vital role in owner education and support through long-term illnesses. A successful outcome often depends on attention to detail and a thorough understanding of the disease process. The role of the nurse in management of a number of common chronic feline illnesses will be covered in depth.

This course is aimed at all Veterinary Nurses keen to improve their feline medicine and will cover:
10.00-10.45 Feline idiopathic cystitis – the nurse’s role in successful management
10.45-11.30 Gold standard care of cats with chronic kidney disease
11.30-11.45 Coffee/Tea
11.45-12.30 Support of anorexic cats – at home and in the hospital
12.30-13.30 Lunch
13.30-14.15 Optimal care of cats with hyperthyroidism
14.15-14.30 Coffee/Tea
14.30-15.15 Diabetic cats – optimal long-term management
15.15-16.00 Management of osteoarthritis and cognitive dysfunction in the elderly cat
