BEVA Advanced Equine Ophthalmology Both Days
This two day course aims to bring delegates up to date with the rapidly expanding field of equine ophthalmology whilst giving the opportunity to learn new ophthalmic surgical and examination techniques in a wet lab with expert tuition on hand.
Day one will be mainly lecture based where new treatments for old conditions (such as recurrent uveitis) will be discussed and the use of advanced ophthalmic examination techniques taught and demonstrated using video ophthalmoscopy and video slit lamp biomicroscopy. Surgical techniques will be discussed and illustrated using hi definition video.
Day two is based entirely in the wet lab where delegates will have the opportunity to practice ocular nerve blocks, lid surgery techniques, lavage system placement, contact lens measurement and placement, third eye lid surgery, lacrimal system surgery, corneal surgery including keratectomy, keratotomy and conjunctival grafting techniques. There will also be an opportunity for delegates to practice ophthalmic ultrasound, fundoscopy and slit lamp techniques using fresh cadaver heads.
