BCVA Foundation Course 2016
BCVA has had excellent feedback for its new graduate courses over the last few years.
In 2016 the course will run over six sessions (10:00 – 16:00) at Colliton Barton, Devon where it will continue to provide high quality practical CPD for cattle vets.
The course has been developed to ensure that it supports cattle vets through the foundation stages of lifelong learning by offering practical training suitable for:
- Recent graduates wishing to improve skill levels in the core practical skills laid out in the Professional Development Phase (PDP) document
- Vets working towards the B modules of the CertAVP(cattle); learning outcomes are aligned to provide support in developing towards the appropriate level of skills and knowledge
- Any cattle vet looking for a foundation in the key areas of cattle practice
Along with the clinical topics the course will cover communication and interpersonal skills leading to greater self-confidence and client satisfaction and so enhance the experience of farm vetting.
Each of the six sessions will be limited to a maximum of 20 delegates, allowing for a very ‘hands-on’ approach to key topics in small teaching groups. No question should be left unanswered and there will be plenty of opportunity to discuss particular questions or topics with both the tutors and other delegates.
The course should also be attractive to busy practice principals who will now be able to delegate some of the responsibility for the education of recently qualified graduates to the BCVA in the knowledge that high quality, practical tuition will be provided.
