Anaesthetic Complications and Emergencies
Anaesthetic complications can be encountered on a daily basis, even in the most ‘common’ surgical procedures. This course will look at how we can look to plan ahead for all our anaesthesia cases, in order to identify potential complications, and minimise their effects with good preparation. How to identify when things do go wrong with the major organ systems and what we will do about it!
Specific areas to be covered.
• Anaesthesia planning to reduce the risk of anaesthetic complications
• Recognising, monitoring and managing anaesthetic complications
• Cardiovascular complications – how to prevent them, and how to manage them
• Respiratory complications – how we can monitor for, identify and treat issues
