Course Summary:
This course is aimed at veterinary surgeons with little or no experience of ultrasound, in clinical practice who may be considering investing in an ultrasound scanner or want to start using one already present. The course will cover how to set up and use an ultrasound machine and how to perform basic abdominal and cardiac examinations. The best way to incorporate ultrasound into a general practice setting will be discussed and also how to recognise the common abdominal and cardiac abnormalities that you are likely to encounter.

The course will comprise a series of lectures and interactive sessions which will be reinforced by small group practical scanning sessions, allowing delegates to familiarise themselves with a range of ultrasound machines and practice performing abdominal and cardiac examinations in cadavers and live normal dogs.
